Introducing the TURN2 Residencies

Introducing the TURN2 Residencies

TURN2 is a programme developed by the German Federal Cultural Foundation to facilitate artistic co-creation between Germany and African countries. The TURN2 Residencies were devised to facilitate research for emerging curators and cultural practitioners with curatorial experience based in Germany and on the African continent with ambitions to make them the starting point for more international collaborations and knowledge-sharing opportunities.

A joint project between the German Federal Cultural Foundation, ZK/U Berlin and the Triangle Network, the residencies are carried out in collaboration with the Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute, Bag Factory in Johannesburg and G.A.S. Foundation. They are fully funded and provide living and working space while offering research opportunities for curators and cultural practitioners with curatorial experience of the African continent.

The selected recipients of the residencies were announced in March 2021 following an open call and include curators Lynhan Balatbat Helbock, Miriam Bettin and Mahret Ifeoma Kupka who will be joining us in Lagos from May 2022.
