SOPHIE CALLE

SOPHIE CALLE

Event date: October 13, 2016 - October 13, 2016 Export event

7pm - 11pm @ Guest Projects (6-course meal & BYOB)

On Thursday 13th October The Artist Dining Room returned to host an unforgettable dining experience. For this occasion, the guests were given the opportunity to explore the life and work of the celebrated French artist Sophie Calle.

For one night only Guest Projects joined creative forces with Nomad Projects and artist Meg Ferguson to bring the guests an exciting evening of interactive and participatory entertainment. Guests indulged in an exquisite 6-course menu inspired by traditional french cuisine, all with a Sophie Calle twist!

More than just a feast for the palate, the supper offered a feast for the eyes, ears and imagination. The diners were led through the menu, each course performing as a retrospective encounter with Calle's artistic practice, exposing themes and narratives within her work.

Investigating elements of fact and fiction, the evening demonstrated how Calle's work relates to contemporary methods of self-representation and self-construction in a post-authentic, digital world.

All guests were encouraged to bring camera phones to document the evening and to take part in interactive games.
