Tangle is an award-winning touring theatre company championing African Caribbean artistic excellence. They will be returning to Guest Projects for the rehearsal of their next full touring production Volpone, the classic renaissance era plays of cunning and greed by Ben Jonson:
Volpone is rich – filthy rich! For him, the glory of accumulating wealth is more thrilling than it’s simple possession. In lust for more he and his assistant, the rascal Mosca, swindle three of the wealthiest men in the city, each believing they are his sole heirs. Daring trickery and avarice will ensue in this bitingly fresh version of Ben Jonson’s comedy.
“Honour? There’s no such thing!”
Adapted and directed by Tangle’s Artistic Director Anna Coombs, and inspired by Southern African Township Theatre, a multi-skilled ensemble of three actors will be rehearsing this much-celebrated play for four weeks at Guest Projects alongside an exciting creative team including musician John Pfumojena to create a dynamic and jazz-infused production to remember.
