The Laundry Arts are excited to invite you to an intimate evening and Supper Club at Guest Projects.
Artist and Designer Giulia Soldati contributor on our current and third project 'Nom' - co-curated by Sabrina Hasan and Loren Elhili, will be performing 'Contatto' - a Food performance and sitting designed to expand the ritual of eating into a wholly visceral practise.
'Contatto is an eating experience aimed at reconnecting us with our food. By placing food directly on the skin, taste is extended to the realm of touch. From the moment we feel the weight, texture and temperature of our food: we anticipate and understand what we are about to consume. Serving becomes an intimate gesture and mode of communication between the chef and the diner: an act of giving and receiving that can inspire a new culinary choreography ' - Giulia Soldati.
'Contatto' has been exhibited in Spain, The Netherlands, Germany and Soldati plans to take it further a field. We are excited to bring this experience to London for the first time!
Giulia Soldati is an Italian artist and designer, currently based in Milan, Italy. After her MA in Social Design at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Giulia began researching ways to merge the world of food and design.
