G.A.S. Foundation proudly announces the addition of Ugoma Ebilah to our Board of Trustees. A passionate creative entrepreneur and cultural curator, Ugoma's journey resonates deeply with our mission to nurture artistic potential and build capacity in artists, arts, and culture. This milestone marks the culmination of a steadfast relationship between Ugoma and our foundation, further solidified by her memorable April 2023 soiree for distinguished friends and patrons of G.A.S. Foundation. The intimate gathering provided a unique insight into the inner workings of G.A.S., while shining a spotlight on the creative practices of our then-residents, Tunji Adeniyi-Jones, Laeïla Ajovi, Chiizii, and Tobi Onabolu.
Ugoma's inclusion on the Board, alongside existing members such as G.A.S. founder Yinka Shonibare CBE RA, Bimpe Nkontchou, Niyi Adenubi, Temitayo Ogunbiyi, and Tokini Peterside-Schwebig, not only enriches our team but also promises to infuse fresh perspectives that will elevate our ability to meaningfully impact the arts ecosystem.

About Ugoma
Ugoma Ebilah, a corporate finance professional turned creative entrepreneur, is known for her community-building efforts and dynamic taste-making. She is the director of BLOOM Art, a private art gallery, and corporate art advisory that promotes and supports multifarious artists and creatives. She founded the award-winning design brand, Zebra Living, and co-founded and ran The Life House, a pioneering multi-arts institution. Ugoma is also the festival director of Lights Camera Africa Film Festival, promoting independent and unconventional films to a discerning audience, and producer of the Woman Rising Music Concert, celebrating female excellence and creativity. She is also the founder/editor of Arts Weekender.
In addition to facilitating record-breaking procurements, Ugoma has overseen the repatriation of significant pieces of Nigerian modernist art and has closed private secondary market transactions, placing valuable art in esteemed collections. Ugoma's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed internationally. She represented Nigeria, speaking at conferences, symposiums, and events in Paris, Venice, and Berlin, where she showcased her country’s art and culture. Her expertise in the art market and ability to bridge the gap between art and finance have earned her recognition and made her a sought-after consultant. Ugoma provides internship opportunities and mentorship to over 350 young individuals. Presently, she is pursuing her most ambitious undertaking yet, "Mbari Kola," an upcoming multi-arts and culture society and institution set to launch in 2024.
